The Health Promotion Service leads on approaches and services that maintain and improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. This covers the life course, early years and children, adults and older adults.
We are recruiting one full-time fixed term (12 months) Health Promotion Officer. Working primarily as part of the Health Promotion Training Team you will work directly with colleagues in the Health Promotion Service and in partnership with colleagues from Health & Social Care, NHS Fife and Fife Council, plus a range of third sector partners and private sector organisations in Fife.
You will take a lead role in the planning and delivery of a portfolio of Poverty Awareness Training, building capacity of the workforce to address the wider issues of poverty and encourage new ways of working. You will work to scope out need and continue to create relevant, engaging and accessible training opportunities, building on the current programmes of Poverty Awareness Training. Key to this will be working in partnership with trainers, participants, services and organisations across all sectors to build community capacity and improve health and wellbeing.
You will actively contribute to change in practice/service provision through training delivery to improve population health and well being and contribute to the reduction of health inequalities.
You will have extensive current experience of face to face and digital training delivery. You will be required to demonstrate your knowledge and experience of health promotion theory and practice and the impact of inequalities on health in relation to the current cost-of-living crisis.
You will have a degree and relevant experience in a health related field preferably with a postgraduate qualification in health promotion. Excellent knowledge and understanding is required of the health improvement agenda, structures and systems across Community Planning Partner organisations especially as they relate to the theory and practice of Welfare Reform and Anti-Poverty. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a track record of delivering high quality training in demanding timescales.
Due to the pressure of current service need during and beyond COVID19 preference will be given to applicants who are currently working in capacity building/training.
