Return to Practice Nursing or Midwifery (Ref: 125844)
Band 3 - Salary Range: £21,709 - £23,603 per annum (pro rata)
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,971 per annum (pro rata)
Full Time – 37.5 hours per week or Part Time hours available
On successful completion of the course, NHS Shetland will guarantee the offer of bank nurse work at AFC Band 5, Salary Range £26,104 - £32,915 pro rata
Has your NMC Registration lapsed? Do you wish to return to Adult, Mental Health, Theatre, Midwifery, School Nursing, Health Visiting or Children and Young People’s nursing after a career break? Do you need to build your confidence and experience before re-registering with the NMC? This contract is for a fixed-term until completion of Return to Practice Course via Robert Gordon University along with clinical hours. Robert Gordon University programme starts in February with a 7-week full time study theory block, which will mainly be online, candidates then complete clinical practice hours which will be between 150 and 450, the number of hours will be decided on individual basis and calculated considering multiple factors, these hours can be completed as full time or part time hours.
Placements can take place in a wide variety of settings including acute and community nursing, maternity, school nursing, health visiting and theatres. Applicants previous experience and preference will be considered on allocation of placement. NHS Shetland has gaps in nursing and midwifery service across both acute and primary care at this time. On completion of return to practice, staff have a guaranteed offer of a nurse bank contract as well as the opportunity to apply for any fixed term or substantive posts.
Theory will mostly be provided in an online format and you will be fully supported to access materials. Clinical placement will also be arranged in a relevant area of the field of practice.
A condition of the funding is that you are required to work in Scotland for 1 year post qualification and gain employment within 3 months full details can be found via the link below:
