An exciting opportunity has arisen for Health Care Support Workers (HCSP) who aspires to work in a busy / active and evolving Older Adult Inpatient Service. Elmview Ward is a transitional care ward for people with dementia and complex care needs. The successful candidate will provide support to the registered nursing staff to ensure the delivery of high quality care. Previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills and will be expected to deliver relevant care without direct supervision. 

You must be committed to delivering person centered care which underpins the values of the Older Adults service. The successful candidate will be a committed individual with a desire to join a progressive, innovative Older Adults service. A keen interest in working in this area of mental health and the drive to learn new skills is essential. 

The successful candidate must possess the ability to communicate well with patients, carers and relatives. Have the ability to carry out assigned tasks, ensuring delivery of high standard safe, effective and person-centred care. You will receive a comprehensive induction package and annual appraisal. The shift pattern of the inpatient service covers 24 hours over 7 days and there will be an expectation that successful candidates will rotate on to night duty. 

If successful in your application, you will be offered the opportunity to undertake an SVQ2 or SVQ3 (dependent on band) in Health and Social Care, approximately 9 months after taking up post. It is expected that you complete this qualification, which will be fully funded by NHS Fife. Your Line Manager will provide you with more information once you are in post.
