We are looking for a dietetic assistant to join our friendly nutrition and dietetics team based in the Central Borders, to undertake this extremely varied role. Following training and achievement of competencies you will assist dietitians with the assessment, treatment and monitoring of patients in hospital and in continuing care establishments. This will include undertaking anthropometric measurements, taking dietary histories and calculating energy and protein intakes. The post holder will need to have good organisational skills, developed IT skills and excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential. Our service is committed to the training of student dietitians and other health care professionals. The post holder will also be involved in on-going education for staff in continuing care establishments. The department encourages innovation and supports continuous professional development. We have IT facilities and secretarial support. The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure.
