  An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Neurology Department for a Registered Nurse to join the MS Specialist Nurse Service based within Ninewells Hospital. The post holder will be      an integral member of the MS Specialist Team to enhance the provision of care for people with Multiple Sclerosis within the hospital and community.

We are seeking an experienced nurse with the personal drive, clinical knowledge and commitment to undertake this challenging and rewarding role. They will possess highly developed communication skills and have experience of working effectively across professional boundaries.

The post holder will be expected to develop specialist knowledge, competencies and skills in the care of people living with Multiple Sclerosis to provide a holistic, co-ordinated approach. A willingness to undertake formal study in Non Medical Prescribing is essential.

The nurse will provide a specialist resource and support to Health and Social Care Professionals, thereby enhancing knowledge, skills and confidence in Multiple Sclerosis care.

The MS Specialist Nurse Team provides advice, information, support, education, assessment and appropriate interventions for patients with Multiple Sclerosis whilst meeting their emotional and psychological needs.  The role will involve a high level of effective teamwork and communication with a wide spectrum of multidisciplinary teams. You will work closely with the other MS Specialist Nurses and the ability to work across Tayside is essential.

The post holder will be responsible to the Senior Nurse in Specialist Services.

You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register.
