NHS Ayrshire & Arran has a requirement for a Desktop Support Officer to work within our Digital Services Department within the Corporate Services Directorate.
Responsible to the Primary Care Digital Services Support Manager and the Telecomms and Desktop Manager, the role is to provide a comprehensive 1st and 2nd line technical support service to 14,000 users across hospitals, GP Practice, Pharmacy, Dental, Community Clinic and Health Centre Sites for all IT hardware, complex clinical and administrative software systems within NHS Ayrshire & Arran to ensure that the support service is delivered to end users, meeting agreed service levels and ensuring that problems are managed through to resolution.
You must possess good communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work autonomously and under pressure to meet deadlines. You will
often work on their own initiative and would be expected to liaise with several NHS and external support colleagues on a regular basis.
You must also be enthusiastic and motivated and have a flexible approach to working, which includes unsociable hours and have a full unendorsed UK driving licence with access to own car for short business journeys between NHS Ayrshire & Arran sites.
You will have a Professional qualification equivalent to HND level in Computer and Network support related subject with relevant experience within a healthcare IT
environment. Be trained in Microsoft Windows 7 & 10 Office 2012 and Office 365. You should also possess or be working toward; MCP/MCSE, ITIL Foundation, SDI SDA. You should have a proven experience in Desktop support, have an excellent understanding of the organisation’s goals and objectives and knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
