This is an exciting new role to join NHS Lanarkshire’s Human Resources team and provide an effective leadership role with the management of a large Human Resource’s function, delivering a high quality professional Human Resources service to a NHS Lanarkshire Division. Planning and implementing a strategy which supports the goals and business plans of NHS Lanarkshire and providing an efficient and effective service to support to all levels of the Human Resources division.


The post holder will be responsible for the management of a substantive part of the Human Resources function across NHS Lanarkshire, providing a Human Resources leadership role across NHS Lanarkshire, supporting corporate objectives and ensuring an effective service is delivery in a complex, fast moving environment. Developing effective relationships with colleagues in a wider multi- professional workforce, while supporting a clinical and financial governance requirements for the role and be responsible for actions within all stages of grievances, discipline, appraisal, PDR policies including preparation for employment tribunal cases.  To advise on the application of formal processes, such as appeals procedures and to act thereafter if required at public hearings such as employment tribunals.   


To manage and develop pay modernization initiatives in accordance with Lanarkshire wide plans, ensuring the management of effective resolutions of issues, taken the lead role within the Human Resources directorate on specific project which impact across the organisation


You will be educated to Degree level with a Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development or equivalent postgraduate qualification/experience, with highly specialist knowledge in Employee Relations and in the application of UK and EU Employment Law maintained through ongoing updated at specialist courses, whiles developing further specialist knowledge acquired through additional training and development equivalent to Masters Level or through attainment of MSc in Human Resources. Be able to demonstrating leadership skills qualities in Political Astuteness, Intellectual, and Flexibility, Leading change through people, communication, personal integrity and partnership working.
