Applications are warmly invited from motivated, registered nurses who have a particular interest in advancing clinical and leadership skills in the Cancer Nurse Specialist field.
The post holder will work in partnership with others to provide safe, equitable, person-centred Breast Cancer Service across NHS Borders by offering timely advice, holistic support, clinical assessment, and treatment planning from suspected cancer diagnosis to treatment, recovery and towards end of life.
The ability to work well as part of a team across regional networks is essential. This includes attendance at South East Scotland Cancer Network multidisciplinary clinical meetings and strategic meetings as a deputy for the Lead CNS, in person or virtually.
The post holder will require excellent communication and organisational skills, with 5 years post registration and at least 2 in a setting relevant to this post. Experience of caring for people with complex needs will be advantageous.
Willingness to undertake clinical and academic training relevant to the clinical requirements of the post is essential. Professional development is encouraged and supported.
Applicants will be asked to give a 10 minute presentation on ‘Facilitating person-centred care for people living with Breast Cancer’.
