Who we are

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.

What you'll do

This is an exciting opportunity, in a new national role, responsible for the development, leadership and management of NES becoming an approved Scottish Qualifications Credit Framework Partnership (SCFQP) credit rating body, internal quality assurance and educational governance.

The post will work across the organisation, NHS Academy and external stakeholders.  

The post holder will:

  • Lead responsibility for the application and the implementation process to enable NES to receive approval to operate effectively as a SCQFP Approved Credit Rating Body.
  • Develop and lead on the implementation of new organisational policies and procedures for NES to operate effectively as a SCQFP Approved Credit Rating Body.
  • Lead on the monitoring and review of quality assurance processes and educational governance activities for SCQF credit rating and NHSSA.
  • Develop and manage the implementation of internal quality assurance and educational governance processes, to operate effectively as a SCQFP Approved Credit Rating Body. 
  • Undertake monitoring and continuous improvement of quality assurance processes to maintain consistency to meet requirements of the SCQFP Quality Assurance Model to the highest standards.
  • Work collaboratively across the organisation and be responsible for the monitoring of activities and coordination of all credit rating and vetting processes conducted within the organisation. 

What you'll bring 

  • Experience in curriculum/qualification development across a range of qualification frameworks and varying academic levels.
  • Experience and knowledge in the design of a wider range of assessment methods
  • Experience or knowledge of the SCQF and credit rating process
  • Experience and understanding of educational quality assurance in the education sector 
  • Proven experience of leading and managing new and existing educational developments.​​​​​​​

Please note that travel across Scotland can be a business-as-usual requirement of this role and may require overnight stays.  ​​​​​​​
