Band 8a SLT Clinic Lead – Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC)
UP to 37.5 hours per week (permanent)
We are seeking to appoint a Clinic Lead for AAC for our CYP and Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service across NHS Lothian. NHS Lothian covers a large geographical area including four education authorities. The CYP department is structured into geographical teams within the education authority areas plus some specialist teams supporting the whole area. The Adult service provide diverse and specialist clinical services to a range of patients and clinical conditions across a wide variety of settings in acute and community and partner organisations. These include patients referred to National and tertiary services as well as local services for Lothian residents.
The Clinic Lead role is a leadership role supporting clinical staff working across all the CYP and Adult SLT teams. You will be an innovative and flexible therapist with a high level of knowledge of the evidence base and significant experience of working with children and young people and adults requiring AAC. You will have demonstrable experience in leadership and take an active role in clinical governance.
You will be surrounded by a friendly, experienced and committed Speech and Language Therapy team. This post has direct involvement in collaborative work with both Health and Council services. The successful applicant will be required to have a Lothian wide perspective which will include regular working across Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian.
