The Remote and Rural Healthcare Educational Alliance (RRHEAL) was established in 2008 as part of NES to support the development of a sustainable health education system for remote rural and island Scotland. RRHEAL supports inclusive access and at distance educational engagement, develops educational tools and links to material specifically relevant to teams supporting health and social care for remote, rural and island populations of Scotland

What you'll do 

Key tasks will include but are not restricted to:

  • NES have identified competencies for the design and delivery of the Rural Advanced Practice (RAP) Qulification, a high priority remote and rural inclusive training programme and resources that will help ensure that remote, rural and island workforce teams are a skilled, sustainable and supported workforce who can deliver safe and effective care to people in remote, rural and island settings. A first of its kind, it will require a structured education and professional support network and hub to train and support those who provide supervision for multiprofessional rural practitioners across Scotland. An essential component within a high-quality workforce and education approach that will support the training and education of multidisciplinary rural practitioners working at advance practice level across Scotland
  • Support with recruiting learners to the RAP programme for first cohort Sept 2023
  • Assist with the building of the RAP hub.
  • Develop the RAP hub with relevant educational resources to support effective supervision
  • Identify additional educational resources to support ongoing professional development for learners and supervisors
  • Engage with UHI and key stakeholders to recruit learners to the RAP programme
  • Liaise with the relevant technology partners to build the RAP hub.
  • Consult with partners to ascertain relevant education resources, to enable development of these.
  • Scope current CPD resources and identify gaps through engagement and Discussion with key stakeholders
  • Develop a plan to survey learners and educators on their experiences of the programme delivery

What you'll bring

These will include but are not restricted to:

  • Experience/understanding of the external political and social environment, including NHS policy issues and priorities, and the wider agenda of public policy impacting on other relevant agencies
  • Significant experience of managing large and complex projects/workstreams
  • Communications / Presentation experience
  • Experience of planning, developing and delivering education and training
  • Analytical experience
  • Experience of budget monitoring, financial forecasting and control
  • Experience of writing complex reports for diverse audience where interpretation of related policies is required
  • Substantial postgraduate experience and will have held enhanced responsibility in an educational or healthcare post
  • Experience of working in an educationally or knowledge management focused environment
  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary environment
