Applications are welcome for the above fixed term (2 X 6 months and 2x 12 months), full time (40 hours per week) posts based in Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
This is a fixed term advanced fellowship providing training in liver, pancreas and renal transplantation (including living donation) as well as organ donation (including novel organ perfusion technologies) and a full range of benign and resectional HPB surgery. The post is suitable for a candidate who has completed general surgical training and is keen to gain in-depth training in transplantation and HPB surgery, leading to independent clinical practice.
The post holder will be based primarily at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh but will be required to undertake multi-organ retrievals at hospitals throughout Scotland and the UK. In addition, the post holder will be required to attend outreach follow-up and assessment clinics in Aberdeen, Dundee and Inverness.
The post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will not be recognised for training.
