Community Mental Health Nurse Specialist at Band 6 in Inverclyde Adult Community Mental Health Team

Applications of interest are invited from those staff currently on protected pay and who are in possession of the essential requirements below.

This is an integrated and comprehensive multi-disciplinary Mental Health Team providing care to individuals with complex mental health needs and their families or carers within the Inverclyde area. 

You will carry responsibility for managing your own caseload and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary care team. Your case work will include the role of care manager for CPA registered cases.

You will be responsible for the maintenance of your own high clinical and professional standards of practice and carry delegated responsibility for the professional leadership and supervision of junior staff.

You will contribute to service and practice developments and governance, in keeping with current good practice, professional and Organisational objectives.

Within this Team, sits the Community Response Service which is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary service providing urgent response and assessment of clients with mental health needs. You may be required to provide support to/ be rotated into this service at points in the future

The service is committed to continuous professional development and will afford support to meet training and development needs

Essential:

NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse

Car Driver

Previous robust experience of working in a community mental healthcare setting.

Be in possession of, in progress of, or willing to commit to the attainment of a recordable qualification relevant to the post e.g. BA, BSc, Diploma.

PREFERRED

Demonstrable evidence of commitment to working with individuals with complex mental health needs, in particular, presentations of psychoses and substance co-morbidity i.e. working knowledge of current good practice and effective models of care applicable.

Sound comprehension of the principles of leadership.
