Due to promotion of the current pot holder University Hospital Wishaw is recruiting a clinical pharmacist to join the pharmacy team covering the medical wards.   The post holder will become an integrated member of the consultant-led multidisciplinary team, contributing to prescribing decisions and providing direct patient care working with medical, nursing and pharmacy staff. You will require a good level of clinical reasoning and judgement as well as excellent communication skills. 

There will be a focus on ensuring safe, effective and person-centred use of medicines at the interface during and throughout admission / discharge as well as undertaking quality improvement initiatives to improve practice.

Experience working within the acute hospital setting is required and you will be supported to undertake and qualify as a pharmacist independent prescriber if not already practising at this level and you will be mentored by the Senior Pharmacist for Medicine.

It is an exciting time in NHS Lanarkshire within expanding roles for the pharmacy team within various clinical roles including the outpatient setting.
