A Clinical Fellow/Locum appointment for Service (LAS) post in Palliative Medicine is available within NHS Forth Valley. This post is available from February 2020 to August 2020 for 6 months.
The post-holder will be based at Strathcarron Hospice, Denny which is a large teaching Hospice serving the people of Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth. The Hospice has a 24 bedded Inpatient Palliative Care Unit and a Day Care Unit. In addition there is a Hospice at Home team and a Community CNS team managing patients in the community setting. Medical leadership is provided by a team of four Consultants who provide input to care across all settings including the Hospital Specialist Palliative Care team at the nearby large teaching hospital, Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
This post presents an excellent opportunity for a candidate seeking experience of Palliative Medicine for a career in General Practice, or prior to application for Higher Specialist Training. Applicants must have evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies in Medicine.
