Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist

​​​​​​​An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen within the Burns Outreach Service, for a  Band 7 fully qualified Burns Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist or Band 7 (Annexe 21) Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist trainee to join our innovative, forward thinking, friendly team.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced nurse, looking for the opportunity to develop and consolidate their knowledge and skills in all aspects of the burn injured patient's management.  The successful applicant interested in the trainee programme will hold a first level degree or the Graduate Certificate in Burns & Plastic Surgery Care for Adults and Paediatrics and a minimum of 3 years post registration experience in burn care.  The applicant interested in the Band 7 position will be expected to have completed or be near completion of the Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist pathway (120 points Level 11) including the Independent Non-medical Prescribing (INMP) qualification.  

The post holder should be an excellent communicator and will be responsible for providing direct care, advice, support and information to burns patient's and their relatives with complex physical and psychological needs in a variety of clinical and community settings.  You will be expected to provide a hybrid service using face to face or virtual consultations and to work across sites as part of the Scottish National Burns Service, creating strong networks and partnerships with other hospitals and community based teams, to improve the patient's journey.   Another key element of the job will be to provide education to pre and post registration nurses as well as other health care professionals.  Car driver essential.
