This is a full-time permanent post. The shift pattern is Mon – Fri with weekend page cover.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Charge Nurse to join the ECMS – Medical Specialities teams within the Royal Alexandra Hospital. This post is based within ward 27 General Medicine.  Ward 27 is a 30 bedded general medical ward providing care to a variety of medical conditions and heath complaints.  The successful candidate will join the wider ECMS Senior Charge Nurse group and provide weekend medical page cover (1 weekend day in 4 weeks).  The successful candidate will lead the nursing team to support the assessment, planning and delivery of specialist care.

The post holder:

  • must be able to demonstrate your ability to engage in and develop a positive ward culture and support the clinical team and engage in programmes of care to enhance the patient journey and patient experience contributing towards delivery of positive outcomes using the Excellence in Care framework.
  • will be responsible to the Lead Nurse and be expected to work on your own merit, be supported by your peers and remain engaged in productive team dynamics.   
  • ​​​​​​​should be innovative and be creative within their organisational role. A keen interest and knowledge of quality improvement is desirable.
