As a MacMillan Head and Neck Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist you will be managing patients and associated symptoms related to the specialty, you are required to have had significant relevant experience working within the Oral – Maxillofacial/ Head & Neck Service and have the knowledge and skill set to competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical & psychological/ emotional aspects of care for this defined patient group, previous nurse specialist experience would be advantageous. As part of a clinical team under the leadership of Lead Nurse, you will be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality in- patient and outpatient clinic service, targeted patient groups including pre-treatment counselling and screening, monitoring of therapy/clinical response, urgent intervention and admission avoidance consultations. You must have the ability to work independently and possess excellent communication skills to manage the collaborative telephone advice lines / triage of incoming calls, in- patient referrals, interface with hospital clinicians and general practitioners, delivery of clinical support with a high level of ITC skills. As part of a Service development, you will have the expertise to specifically focus on the delivery of specialised patient centred care. This post will help to facilitate change. The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Adult Nurse with the NMC with significant post registration experience (Desirable) within the relevant speciality. You must be willing to undertake the non- medical prescribing and clinical assessment modules in order to support the development of the service.

You would be required to have substantial post registration experience preferably at band 5 level
