The Health Promotion Service lead on approaches and services which maintain and improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. This covers the life course, early years and children, adults and older adults.
The service is looking to recruit a Senior Health Promotion Officer who has relevant current Health Promotion/Health Improvement experience at a strategic level. You will work directly with colleagues in the Health Promotion Service and in partnership with colleagues from Health & Social Care, NHS Fife and Fife Council, plus a range of third and voluntary sector partners.
You will have particular responsibility for:
• Providing highly specialist health promotion expertise to a range of partners at a strategic level, in order to improve the health and wellbeing of the population of Fife and reduce health inequalities.
• Lead on the development and delivery of specialist Health Programmes, projects and approaches on prevention and early intervention.
• You will manage a portfolio of work based on current priorities.
Working in partnership with multiagency groups you will use your creativity and excellent organisational skills to plan and deliver a range of health promotion activities in line with local and national priorities, initiatives and campaigns.
You will be required to demonstrate effective engagement strategies and collaborative approaches when working across multi agency partnerships and across communities in Fife. In addition, You will be required to work with staff working in the voluntary, third and statutory sector to build community capacity to improve health and wellbeing.
You will be the nominated strategic lead for Tobacco Control (Prevention, Protection and Cessation). Therefore, you must have indepth knowledge of managing a service in line with local and national public health priorities and targets.
You should hold a relevant qualification in health promotion/health improvement/public health with significant experience in Health Promotion/Health Improvement or Community Development. This is a non nursing role.
