FAMILY NURSE PARTNERSHIP (FNP)
Family Nurse Supervisor, Band 8a
The Family Nurse Partnership is a Pan NHS Lothian delivered service. It is also in partnership with NHS Borders to deliver the programme. As part of this partnership agreement the Supervisor role in both of these boards is provided by Supervisors employed by NHS Lothian. In line with the Scottish Government manifesto to roll out FNP across Scotland and the FNP quality improvement cycle, NHS Lothian FNP team require to maintain their Supervisor team capacity. There is currently an opportunity to appoint a full time Supervisor for the service.
The FNP Supervisor will have previous experience of management as indicated in the Person Specification for this post. Consideration for a development opportunity on a fixed term basis for up to 1 year may also be given to band 7 family nurses with significant experience within the FNP service. They must be able to evidence leadership skills and have a willingness to work both innovatively and flexibly as part of a team of Supervisors for the service (on occasions out with core hours). Applicants should have a passion for the FNP philosophy and its’ strength-based approach.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
Please note that this role requires compulsory attendance at training, which is delivered over 18-month period some of which is residential. The dates of training will be confirmed at interview.
