As part of a multidisciplinary team the postholder will provide comprehensive, high quality and highly specialised laboratory services in the area of diagnostic and clinical andrology, within the Edinburgh Fertility Centre.
The post holder will gain professional training and will continue theirtraining and development in order to maintain HCPC registration.
To contribute to providing a clinical laboratory service, working effectively as a team member.
To perform complex scientific and interpretive work within all sections of the andrology laboratories and to rotate between sections for training or as appropriate to meet operational demands of the service.
To provide advice to clinicians and other healthcare staff as to appropriateness of tests and time-scales.
To be responsible for own work and use specialist training to operate complex equipment and solve problems.
To participate in the supervision and training of Trainee Biomedical/Clinical Scientists and laboratory support staff.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
