​​​​​​​An opportunity has arisen in NHS Forth Valley for an experienced Clinical Support Worker. This post is permanent and covers multiple areas within NHS Forth Valley. The initial 3-6 months for this post will be in the Emergency Department/Minor Injuries Unit. After this period of time, the post-holder can expect to work in a variety of areas within NHS Forth Valley. This requires staff to have a wide range of skills, dealing with all age groups. Previous experience in a caring role is essential.

An ability to work under pressure and have developed competence in a variety of clinical skills relating to caring for acutely unwell patients is preferable. Training can be provided for development of further clinical skills – including, but not limited to; point of care testing for covid-19, ECG’s, application/removal of splints and back slabs, wound dressing, venepuncture etc.

We require you to have good communication skills, are flexible and adaptable and can work well within a team while using your own initiative.

You will be expected to carry out assigned tasks involving direct patient care and the smooth running of the department supporting registered nurses. Good observation skills and the ability to recognise a change in patient’s condition and know when to refer on to a senior nurse is vital.
