An opportunity has arisen to recruit an Audiology Assistant based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. The postholder would be part of and supported by the NHS Highland Audiology Team based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness

The Audiology Service has a wide range of responsibilities covering the whole Audiology population including adults, children and newborn hearing screening. The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of the hearing aid repair service, supplying replacement batteries, replacing faulty hearing aids and sending earmoulds to manufacturers for processing. Duties will also include ordering and receipting Audiology stock and sending faulty hearing aids to manufacturers for repair.

The postholder will be trained to take impressions of patients ears for earmoulds for hearing aids, and will provide assistance to hearing aid users and their carers/relatives. Applicants should have some I.T. experience and also expect to attend to telephone enquiries. Training will be provided in house in addition to attending an earmould impression taking course outwith the area.
