Admin Assistant – HR (x2)
37.5 hours per week
1x Permanent
1x Fixed Term/Secondment opportunity until 31st July 2023*
Flexible Location: This is a hybrid work opportunity, as the successful candidate will require to attend and work from our office in Edinburgh or Glasgow a minimum of one day per week. We’re happy to discuss how this could work for you.
Who We Are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
HR Trainee Services
We provide specialist HR services and support to Medical and Dental Trainees, as well as internal and external stakeholders across NHS Scotland. We assist in the recruitment of medical, dental and pharmacy trainees, and are also responsible for carrying out pre-employment checks. In addition to this we provide in-employment HR support relating to absence and salary setting. We are also the national shared service for Disclosure Checks via the PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) scheme for all doctors and dentists in training in Scotland and are the Sponsor for all doctors and dentists in training in Scotland.
What you'll do
- provide quality service to our stakeholders: medical, dental and pharmacy.
- provide effective communication by issuing e-mails and answering the service desk requests
- support the Recruitment and Onboarding business processes.
What you'll bring
- Relevant experience in a general office role, for example typing, administration
- Relevant experience in service desk, managing tickets and service requests.
- Experience in managing and issuing emails.
- Able to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (eg Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience of maintaining computerised and manual records.
- Understanding of discretion or confidentiality in the workplace
- Experience of collating data
