An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Family Nurse Supervisor within NHS Tayside FNP service. The post holder will be responsible for managing the work of the family nurses ensuring fidelity to programme's licensing requirements. This includes providing in depth clinical and professional supervision (including child protection supervision) to the team of family nurses, maintaining the integrity and quality of the programme, overseeing recruitment and engagement of hard to reach pregnant young women, building local relationships and facilitating continual learning and service improvement. In addition they will also hold a small caseload of families to whom they deliver the programme.
The FNP supervisor will be a Registered General Nurse or Midwife with current NMC registration. Professional knowledge acquired at diploma/degree level underpinning further specialist education and training such as Public Health Nursing/Health Visiting, educated or ability to work at Masters Level with post registration experience in an area such as Home Visiting, Public Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing or Paediatric Nursing within a community setting. You will have experience working with families where there have been child protection requirements and have knowledge of policies affecting wellbeing of children and families including early years. Please Note:
The successful applicant will be required to undertake all mandatory training to become both a Family Nurse (where applicable) and Family Nurse Supervisor and be available to:
- Attend all supervisor training events including 2 night residential on 4th- 6th February 2020
- Where applicable attend all Family Nurse training events including 4 night residential training on 2- 6th March 2020.
