An opportunity has arisen within Main Theatres at University Hospital Ayr, for a motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner. 
The applicant must be a Registered General Nurse currently NMC registered or ODP registered with HCPC.  The post is full time 37.5hrs working a 10 shift pattern, part-time hours may also be considered.  A commitment to on call duties and weekend shifts is essential for this post.  Knowledge of the peri-operative environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. This position requires a nurse with excellent time management skills and an ability to work collaboratively with other departments involved in the care of patients requiring surgery. A focused, committed team player who can excel under pressure are amongst the required personal qualities to be successful in the role.  This post involves rotational work in Anaesthetic and Scrub roles.  Full support will be given initially and as a department we strongly support personal development therefore you will have access to further your learning and gain experience within the department.  It is expected that the successful candidate will be required to undertake and complete NES Anaesthetic competencies as well as completion of an extensive in-house induction programme.
