​​​​​​​Based in Dumfries & Galloway as part of the NHS IM&T development team, the post holder will work full time, 37.5 hours per week.

The primary functions of the development team are to design and develop information systems to support both operations and planning for the NHS Board. To assess, implement, support and maintain bought-in third party computer systems.  To ensure information to support the clinical process, management process and clinical audit is readily available.

The work of a software systems design and developer supports all staff of the NHS Dumfries & Galloway and its associated independent contractors. This is a core support service for fault resolution and incorporates technical consultations, designing and specifying complex software solutions to support clinical services, testing system recovery procedures, commissioning and deploying new systems, proactive checks on systems and networks to anticipate potential problems and handling service calls for critical systems.

Applicants should possess a degree or equivalent in an IT or numerical related subject and have at least 3 years' experience of systems design and software development. This must include the whole systems lifecycle including analysing business requirements and planning and managing systems implementations.

Applicants should have experience of database administration in both production support and development environments.

REMOTE / HYBRID WORKING
Remote or Hybrid working will be considered for the post holder, although attendance at on site meetings will be required from time to time with relatively short notice.
