Job Advert

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to join our forward-thinking service as an advanced Speech and Language Therapist.

The post is part of the small Adult Learning Disability team, which is made up of mixed grade therapists. You will work in conjunction with others to deliver and develop a quality service within a tiered model of intervention across Fife including to the local assessment and treatment centre and bespoke inpatient unit. As a senior and highly experienced member of the wider service you will contribute to strategic planning, policy interpretation and implementation and support consistent and reflective clinical decision making and application of quality improvement methodology.

You will bring comprehensive knowledge and experience of responding to requests for assistance and managing a mixed caseload of communication and swallowing difficulties for adults with learning disability. A relevant postgraduate qualification and autonomy in the management of dysphagia is essential, as is evidence of ongoing professional development.

The SLT Service is professionally managed within Fife Health and Social Care Partnership and you will be joining a dynamic service with a well developed peer facilitation / supervision model and a strong commitment to staff wellbeing and development. The service supports a blended model of remote, on-site and home working for non-clinical / non-interventional activity associated with individual posts.

For informal enquiries, please contact Hilary Munro, Professional Head of Service, Speech & Language Therapy, Cameron Hospital, Windygates, KY8 5RR on 01592 226784.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
