Shift pattern: 37.5hrs / week, 12 hour shifts / days and nights
This exciting opportunity as a Band 5 staff nurse within Older Person’s Mental Health inpatient services is currently available. Banff ward is a 20 bedded functional assessment ward in Leverndale Hospital, South Glasgow.
The post holder will require to be a RMN and have a desire to work with older people.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team within the context of an inpatient ward, the post holder:
- will have responsibility for the assessment of patient care needs and the development and evaluation of programs of care.
- will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals and in line with agreed standards and clinical policies.
- will take charge of the ward and the supervision and teaching of junior staff, both qualified and unqualified will be an important aspect of the role as will be the mentoring of student nurses and junior staff.
The post-holder will be expected to practice within a legal & ethical framework as defined by:
- The Nursing & Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct
- National mental health related legislation
- National and local policy, guidelines and protocols.
