​​​​​​​Forth Valley Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) has opportunities for a Band 5 nurse to join their expanding multidisciplinary team.

Applications are invited from nurses who can demonstrate a strong interest in developing CAMH skills and have a desire to work with children and young people with mental health difficulties.  The team provides assessment and interventions to children, with moderate to severe, complex mental health problems, and their families. The post holder would also be involved in assisting with mental health assessment, interventions and support to the multidisciplinary team as well as developing working relationships with a wide range of professions.

The successful candidate must possess good interpersonal and communication skills.

Candidates must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, innovative and responsible for ensuring their ongoing professional development as well as being committed to active involvement in implementing service developments. It is expected that the successful candidate would undertake the Essential CAMHS online training course.

Prior experience of working with young people is an advantage although not essential as full support, training and development will be provided. There may also be an expectation of participating in regular evening clinics as part of a service initiative to improve accessibility for families. A knowledge and experience of group work would also be advantageous.

Supervision is provided within the nursing team and there are ongoing continuous professional development opportunities. 

The post holder will be expected to work across NHS Forth Valley within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
