Service Support Manager, Emergency Department and Acute Receiving
Band 6,
The Service Support Manager supports the General Manager and Clinical Service Manager in providing direct operational and strategic management to the service.
Key tasks include :
 Overall responsibility for administrative services within the Emergency Department/Acute Assessment, and direct line management responsibility for all PAs.
 Leading service modernisation projects with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
 Day-to-day operational input to Emergency Department rota team arranging junior medical cover, ensuring service continuity and robust planning in place.
 The development of statistical datasets for performance reporting.
 Supporting clinical governance actions such as complaint/incident investigation
The Service Support Manager works extensively with clinical teams. The role offers an excellent development opportunity for an experienced administrative manager seeking to manage clinical services.
Applicants will require:
 3 years’ experience managing staff, preferably within an NHS administrative setting.
 Highly-developed skills in planning and organisation, written and verbal communication, numeracy and IT, and team-working
 Excellent leadership, teaching and negotiating skills, with the ability to organise, motivate and develop staff.
 Ability to work on own initiative, make decisions and deal with numerous concurrent tasks of varying timescales.
 A Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, or equivalent experience.  Informal enquiries will be welcomed by:
