Dental Therapist (various posts across Aberdeenshire North/Central Public Dental Service)
Aberdeenshire Public Dental Service currently has vacancies for full time/part time Dental Therapists. These posts will be based across various Aberdeenshire Public Dental Service Clinics in North and Central Aberdeenshire. The Public Dental Service provides care to patient groups who cannot access NHS dentistry from General Dental Practitioners. The post holders will be expected to provide the full range of General Dental Service treatments to these groups within their scope of practice. These posts will provide dental care in a variety of domiciliary settings throughout the local area. From June to November the working week will normally be spent working at PDS Clinics in the area. In addition to clinical duties, from November to June, there will be regular travel to carry out NDIP (school dental inspections) in Primary Schools across the Aberdeenshire area.
Clinical experience of providing treatment to priority patient group patients is desirable. GDC registration as a Dental Therapist and evidence of participation in postgraduate dental education is essential. The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, while having the ability to deal with difficult situations and challenging patient behaviours in a positive manner will be essential. A driving licence/access to a car is essential.
