There is Fixed Term an Permanent positions with this vacancy, the fixed term post is for 12 months.

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals to join Glasgow City’s North East Health Improvement Team as a Health Improvement Senior.  Post 1 (37.5 hrs permanent) will have key responsibility for the delivery of tobacco programmes, with an overall aim of improving health and reducing health inequalities in line with the HSCP strategic plan and other locally and nationally identified priorities. The post holder will work within the HSCP with key partners and will be responsible for overseeing the management and delivery of the NE Quit Your Way Smoking Cessation Service, in line with Scottish Government LDP targets.  Post 2 (37.5 hrs fixed term 12 months) will support development of key issues such as (but not exclusively) agreed health priorities for children and young people including Mental Health and Wellbeing for children and young people and adults and cancer screening activity for the wider population in line with government programmes.  Post 3 (37.5 hrs permanent) will progress various financial inclusion and poverty related work streams in North East locality, particularly in relation to child poverty, to mitigate financial pressures which have been exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic and the emerging cost of living crisis; this is a priority for Glasgow City HSCP and NHSGGC. The post also contributes to the Welfare Advice & Health Partnerships programme in General Practice.  These post holders are responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to ensure delivery and progress in line with the organisation’s aims. They will manage staff to meet these aims and will be part of a wider HI Senior staff group considering strategic responses.  They will be responsible for establishing and sustaining links internally within Glasgow City HSCP/GGC NHS Board and with key external partners/clients/communities to promote health improvement and address inequalities in health.  Applicants should be educated to Degree or equivalent level with at least 3 years’ experience working in a relevant, specific topic, setting, and skill based health improvement arena. Experience of project planning, management and implementation is required. A postgraduate diploma in a health related discipline and supervisory experience is desirable.  The post holder is expected to fulfil the Standards for Public Health Practice (Health Improvement) at Foundation-Core level. The post will be subject to hybrid working with an agreed balance of home working and office based time.  This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme.  Please indicate if you have a preference to which post you are applying.
