Ayrshire. We currently have a vacancy for a Staff Nurse within our busy In-Patient

Unit.

An opportunity has arisen for a 22.5hr fixed term contract post. This will be on a temporary

basis for 12 months (until February 2024) to cover internal secondment/ maternity leave. This

posts will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to gain experience within a

specialised palliative care setting working alongside a team highly devoted to providing

palliative care to adults with a life limiting illness.

spiritual and psychosocial care to patients who have a life limiting illness and their families.

We are looking for a dynamic, compassionate and enthusiastic NMC Registered Nurse to

come and join our friendly, committed in-patient team at The Ayrshire Hospice to help

provide individualised and rewarding high-quality care.

We offer great training, support and development to all our staff with regular PDP reviews,

reflection sessions and inhouse training. We have an excellent staff to patient ratio which

allows staff the ability to give individuals the care they require and provide support to them

and their families.

The in-patient is a 11 bedded unit that accepts referrals for Symptom management, MDT

assessment, Nursing care, Respite and end of life care. We are currently based within East

Ayrshire Community Hospital in Cumnock on a temporary basis until the completion of

building work within our previous base at Racecourse Road in Ayr (2024). We will then

return to a bespoke and specifically designed unit which will have all the requirements to care

for our patients in the best way possible.

Key skills-

A passion for working with adults who have a life limiting illness and the drive to work

within a multi-disciplinary team to help the patient reach their goals.

- Excellent communications skills and the ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary

team.

- All documentation is online so good computer skills required to enable accurate record

keeping and effective communication.

-Experience in providing end of life care.
