Who we are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.

What you'll do

Are you interested in developing the role of pharmacy technicians in Scotland?  This is an exciting post for a Programme Officer to support education and training for Pharmacy Technicians and offers a unique development opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced pharmacy technician to expand their career experience at this level

The post holder will support the development and delivery of a number of pharmacy technician initiatives, as well as providing an excellent opportunity to gain experience in an education and training environment.  The initial role will focus on the delivery of the General Practice Learning Pathway for Pharmacy Technicians across Scotland, however we would encourage applicants interested in the wider delivery including support of the Pharmacy Technician Foundation Programme and support for the work based assessment of Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians.  Experience in any of these areas (not all) is desirable.

The post holder will work closely with the NES Educational Lead for Pharmacy Technicians, seconded Programme Officers and key stakeholders from all pharmacy sectors in the continued development and delivery of education and training for Pharmacy Technicians

What you'll bring

Significant experience in a relevant role and setting is required as well as a flexible approach to learning and problem solving, effective prioritisation and sound judgement.  Developing effective relationships with key stakeholders will also be essential for the delivery of this post. Experience and/or understanding of the external drivers as well as awareness of relevant NHS policies/priorities is desirable, as is experience of audit, evaluation or research.

The nature of the post will allow you to develop your knowledge and skills in an education and training environment at a regional and national level.
