Job Advert

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

We are seeking applications from Physiotherapists who are keen to develop their clinical knowledge and leadership skills at a more senior level in addition to exploring service development  within Physiotherapy on a rotational basis across the clinical specialties of Orthopaedics, Surgical/ITU and Acute Medical. It is hoped that Acute Neuro Rehabilitation will also be added to this rotation.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a high standard of clinical expertise in the assessment and management of a range of patients and should have relevant post-graduate experience within a variety of clinical specialties.  To be successful in this role, it is essential that applicants have the ability to use their own initiative and  manage their own caseload. Applicants should therefore have good organisational and time management skills.

The post holder will support the Team Lead Physiotherapist in the unit of work with the effective day to day running of the Physiotherapy service.  In addition, the post holder will support  the professional development of rotational Band 5 Physiotherapy staff, Physiotherapy Healthcare Support Workers and Physiotherapy students.  The successful applicant will work weekends when on the Orthopaedic rotation as part of the 7 day service in this area and will participate in the emergency duty respiratory on-call service.

An active continuous professional development programme and staff appraisal systems are in operation.
This post may be considered as a training post  (under Annexe 21) depending on experience.
