An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of our wider support to Ukrainians, asylum seekers and refugees coming to live in North Ayrshire. We are looking for Band 5 Community Staff Nurses who have experience or an interest in working with migrant populations, namely Ukrainian Displaced People, asylum seekers and refugees.
Postholder's will be expected to provide an accessible, appropriate, high quality and culturally sensitive and effective nursing service to newly arrived asylum seekers, refugees or Ukrainian Displaced People (UDP) in North Ayrshire.
You will be expected to work collaboratively with the wider Refugee Support Team including colleagues in housing services and Bilingual Liaison Officers to carry out initial health screening and assessment and facilitate access and support from universal health services, and specialist support as required.
We are looking for 1st level nurses with post-registration experience and evidence of Continuous Professional Development. Previous knowledge and experience of the needs of migrant populations is desirable, as is working within a community setting.
These are new posts to North Ayrshire HSCP and as such we’re keen to recruit individuals who are open to working in a developing team and who are enthusiastic about new opportunities and developments.
This will be a temporary opportunity for 23 months due to current funding arrangements. Although we are advertising 2 x 37.5 hour posts, we will consider a range of hours from 22.5 hours up to 37.5 hours. Secondments will be considered.
