Applications are welcome for the above 3-year post (number of sessions to be negotiated) based in St John’s Hospital.
This post is part of the directorate leadership team which is collectively responsible for ensuring high quality, safe, effective, patient-focussed services.
The post holder provides visible professional leadership and management for all medical staff within the directorate. This includes: consultants, SAS doctors, Doctors in training, Clinical Academics, senior scientists and Locums, as appropriate. The postholder will lead, motivate and inspire medical staff to ensure delivery of clinical services aligned to corporate objectives.
The postholder is responsible, with the Service Manager and Clinical Nurse Manager, for ensuring that local and national clinical standards/ indicators are monitored and managed through effective directorate clinical governance arrangements.
The post holder is responsible, with the Service Manager and Clinical Nurse Manager, for ensuring that the service meets local and national standards/indicators and targets, and are delivered within available resources. This will be achieved through appropriate two-way communication between the post holder and all medical staff, to encourage and support effective clinical engagement in the decision making processes across NHS Lothian.
