Applications are invited for individuals to apply for the post of Cancer Clinical Trials Data Manager. The successful applicants will join an enthusiastic team responsible for providing a comprehensive data management and administrative support service for cancer clinical trials undertaken by researchers in NHS Tayside and University of Dundee. The posts entail ensuring that trial protocol requirements are fulfilled and all trial data are recorded to agreed timescales and quality standards according to Good Clinical Practice guidelines, the EU directive on clinical trials and UK legislation.


The posts will be based within the Stefani Unit Cancer Clinical Trials Office at Ninewells Hospital, and will be managed from the Clinical Research Centre (CRC) which is Tayside Medical Science Centre’s (TASC) hub Clinical Research Facility.  TASC brings together the functions of the Clinical Research Facilities, the Tayside Clinical Trials Unit, Tayside Tissue Bank and the joint functions of the NHS Research and Development Office and the University of Dundee’s Research and Innovation Services (in relation to clinical research). The Scottish Cancer Research Network (SCRN) was established to increase accrual of patients into cancer trials and to promote equity of access to trials for all patients with cancer.


Applicants should be educated to degree level in a relevant scientific discipline or have equivalent experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills and ability to perform at the level required for the post. Experience of clinical trials or clinical research work in either NHS, academic or commercial environment would be an advantage.


You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

Hours of work are: 30 hours per week

Fixed Term/ Secondment for 12 months
