An exciting development opportunity has arisen within Learning Disability Inpatient Assessment and Treatment within Woodland View, Irvine.

We are looking to provide a development opportunity to a highly skilled, enthusiastic, progressive and innovative Acting Deputy Charge Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a highly specialised service for adults with a learning disability and other associated complex needs including autism who require specialist, inpatient assessment and treatment.

You must be a first level Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) with relevant post registration experience of working in a managerial/supervisory role.  You must be educated to degree level and/or have evidence of continual professional development in areas pertinent to this post. 

It is essential you will be able deputise for the Senior Charge Nurse in their absence and for the management and co-ordination of nursing care within the 7 bed Inpatient Assessment and Treatment service.  You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to develop relationships at all levels. You must be able to demonstrate you have highly developed assessment and intervention skills and have a working knowledge of person centred care and Positive Behaviour Support. An understanding of current policy and how it affects support for people with a learning disability and the role of nursing is required.

Hours: 37.50 per week (flexibility in regards to working pattern to suit the needs of the service and the people we support).

This is a fixed term / secondment / development post to cover a period of maternity leave until 28 February 2024.
