This locum 8 session-post with a specialist interest in Elective Skin Cancer surgery will be based in the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. There will also be a bi-weekly peripheral commitment at the Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley to join an established combined Plastic Surgery / Dermatology skin cancer assessment/treatment clinic. As well as elective commitments there will also be a commitment to the unit trauma rota.
The Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit currently has 22 Consultant Plastic Surgeons. The Service provides the entire spectrum of plastic and reconstructive subspecialty services excluding craniofacial surgery and has a large workload of general plastic surgery. This Unit is internationally recognised and runs a variety of teaching courses every year.
Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once CESR is awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
