Due to staff promotion, two exciting opportunities have arisen within Larkfield CMHT at Kirkintilloch Health and Care Centre for Band 5 nurses. You should be a registered mental health nurse (RMHN).  Larkfield CMHT provide assessment and ongoing care for adults who experience severe and enduring mental health difficulties within parts of East Dunbartonshire and North Lanarkshire.  There could also be opportunities to work across teams, gaining experience within Primary Care Mental Health Team, (PCMHT) and facilitation of group work.  The Multi -Disciplinary Team consists of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, CBT Therapists, Nursing and O/T staff.  As a band 5 Staff Nurse, you would be responsible for your own caseload and receive regular supervision. As part of your role, you would be rostered for Desk Duty which can include receiving calls from patients, relatives, GP’s, emergency services etc.  Responsibilities include delivering low level psychological therapies to meet with Government Heat Targets. There are training opportunities for this.  Early intervention will reduce in patient bed usage.  You should be familiar with the use of Oral medication and the administration of Depot medication, monitoring for side effects and concordance.  Promoting health and physical well -being is a priority with this client group.  You will be involved in the MDT discussions to plan and implement patient care.  You will also be required to liaise with ward staff, GP’s, Emergency services when required and outside agencies such as housing and third sector organisations. ​​​​​​​
