An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Directorate of Transformation and Sustainability for a Communications & Digital Media Officer.

Educated to degree level (e.g. Public Relations, Digital Media, Journalism), or equivalent qualification or knowledge base, you will have solid experience within a communications role with extensive media relations and social media experience including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc., as well as knowledge and understanding of emerging new digital media.

You will have Project Management experience and skills and a good understanding of the infrastructure of the NHS in Scotland.

Ideally you will have experience of working in the NHS or similar public sector organisation (e.g. local authority) and knowledge of video production and editing and be able to collate and analyse information/data and present in a meaningful and easily understood way. 

You will have highly developed communication and relationship building skills with strong written and presentation skills; effective leadership, facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills; the ability to deliver presentations sessions; be proficient in the use of Information Technology and be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

Hours: 37.5 per week, over 5 days

Car owner/driver is essential for the post.
