An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and competent individual to facilitate the delivery of high quality research activity across NHS Fife. You will work as a member of the R&D team to provide NHS Fife staff with professional advice, guidance and support on all aspects of the conduct of research in the NHS. This will include assisting in protocol development, R&D management and ethics applications, data analysis, interpretation and dissemination.


You will deputise for the Asst R&D Director as required and be expected to take a leading role in developing specified areas of research. You will also have a passion for developing research and provide training to researchers in research methodologies and associated activities.


You will have research training at PhD or Masters level with equivalent research experience in a relevant field. The post requires specialist knowledge of health service research methodologies, epidemiology, protocol development, grant funding opportunities and current research related legislation. You will have working knowledge and understanding of preparing research grant applications and publications, and the use of statistical techniques.


Your written and oral communication skills will be outstanding and suitable for multi professional interaction at all levels, including the ability to; facilitate; influence; negotiate; and build relationships and a willingness to contribute to collaborative projects. You will be able to readily absorb information and present it in an effective manner, therefore IT skills in Word, Excel and Powerpoint will be essential.
