The Communications Business Partner will support our Communications and Engagement Manager in the delivery of our communications and engagement strategy. The Scottish Ambulance Service communicates with a wide range of internal and external audiences across a number of platforms including national and local media, the web, social media, publications and email. Our role is to use these channels in fostering our relationships with our staff, patients, carers, the public, media and key stakeholders.
Key aspects of the role include:
- You will be creative and innovative, with the ability to bring staff and patient stories to life; use analytics to create targeted campaigns; and develop ideas for national, local and digital media.
- Research stories and write media releases/feature articles at pace, to ensure positive media coverage and provide a balanced perspective of the Scottish Ambulance Service, in order to keep public and staff informed through traditional and new media channels.
- To ensure that the Scottish Ambulance Service communicates effectively both internally and externally, while managing its reputation, public image and identity in line with the Service’s aims, goals and values.
- Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information to which there are often barriers to understanding and which then has to be communicated to the media, patients and the public in an easily understood way.
- Work with the communications and engagement team in delivering the strategy through the use of existing media channels and testing new ones, using targeted approaches.
- Play a key role in the development of our social media channels, website and intranet. Whilst ensuring there is real time information on these platforms and engaging content.
- Build and manage positive working relationships with key stakeholders such as the Scottish Government, Scottish Parliament, MSPs, MPs and our NHS partners.
