Technical Delivery Manager
This post is a 23 Month Fixed Term / Secondment position

The Post:
The new Child Health Programme is looking for a Technical Delivery Manager to support the implementation and digital transformation of the new Child Health System for Scotland.
You will engage with stakeholders at all levels (including Health Board staff and supplier(s)) to represent the needs of the Programme. You will manage the technical delivery of one or more projects, typically to deliver a specific product or transformation. You’ll be adept at delivering complex digital projects, breaking down barriers for your team and both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed.
Defining technical needs and feeding these into the programme/portfolio process will enable appropriate design work and roadmap prioritisation. You will be core to decisions that build high performing teams, where people are excited about the work they are undertaking.
The Candidate:
To be successful in this role, you should be educated to degree level or possess equivalent experience and have extensive experience in leading technical deliveries.
You will have experience of working within a development lifecycle ideally on large scale national IT system solutions and able to demonstrate relevant experience of planning and supporting End to End, Penetration and User Acceptance Testing.
You will also have experience in chairing boards to support both technical and non-technical, internal and external stakeholders.
Database knowledge including confidence in conversing in SQL and/or Oracle databases is desirable.
It is essential that you are able to dissect and appraise technical solutions and design artefacts.
You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to build effective relationships with all stakeholders. You should have the ability to prioritise your workload effectively whilst managing competing demands.
Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.
Currently hybrid working.
The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
The role can be carried out anywhere with a reliable internet connection capable of sustaining MS Teams video calls. Note, although the majority of engagement will be remote there will be the requirement to travel to several face-to-face meetings and events.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
