A rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced nurse to join the GGC Renal Unit in the position of Renal Practice Development Nurse. The successful candidate will be based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but will be expected to travel between all of the Renal sites within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The post holder will be responsible for leading, developing and coordinating practice development projects/initiatives and facilitating the management of change directed by organizational priorities. They will be responsible for facilitating the educational activities and the professional development of staff within the renal service and will ensure that practice development activity meets the specific needs of the clinical area. In addition the post holder will be expected to function as a specialist practitioner with in depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience. The post holder plays a key role in 4 areas:
 Leading on the Practice Development plan for renal services in GG & C
 Providing leadership and co-ordination of in house training and development days/programmes for renal staff
 Facilitating the development of the knowledge and skills of newly appointed nurses to the service
 Lead and plan the Haemodialysis Support Worker training programme
 Assist with reviewing and updating unit protocols and SOPs
It is essential you are a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration, have evidence of continuing professional development and be educated to at least degree level. You should also have substantial post registration experience. This is a full time post Monday – Friday.
