Senior Occupational Therapist (Hub)
North East Locality
Are you an enthusiastic individual ready to lead a team of community based occupational therapists? Can you adapt to the challenges of working at the interface of hospital and community, supporting people home from hospital in a timely manner and preventing other people from being admitted to hospital unnecessarily? Then we’d love you to join our friendly, supportive team.
We are looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the North East Locality Hub team to lead and manage a team of occupational therapists and Assistant Practitioners. This is an exciting time to join the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership as we continue to develop our home first approach. You will make a vital contribution to how we ensure people are discharged from hospital without delay via the Discharge to Assess team and Prevention of admission pathways.
You will work closely with Physiotherapist, Assistant Practitioners and Community Therapy assistants on a daily basis. We offer a supportive work environment to help you grow and develop throughout your Occupational Therapy career.
You will have excellent organisational skills and be a clear and effective communicator. Previous experience of working in a rehabilitation or community setting with highly developed discharge planning skills are essential.
The North East Locality is a diverse are supporting people living in Leith, Portobello, Craigentinny, Lochend, Marionville, Willowbrae , Craigmillar and Niddrie . This is an exciting time to join our team as we continue to develop our three conversations approach and move to hybrid working.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
