CONSULTANT in PAEDIATRICS

Community and Acute General Responsibilities

Salary £91,474 – £121,548 per annum

plus, Distant Island Allowance £1,201per annum

The Western Isles Hospital (WIH) in Stornoway is a Rural General Hospital serving a population of approximately 26,500.

The hospital, which was opened in 1992, is modern and well equipped. It has 90 beds covering General Medicine (including a 4-bedded high dependency unit and a bay for paediatric patients), General Surgery, Orthopaedics and Trauma, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Psychiatry and Rehabilitation.

The Hospital has an up-to-date laboratory with ready access to more specialised investigations at Raigmore laboratories and other specialized laboratories in Scotland. The Radiology Department is well equipped for routine radiology, CT scanning, ultrasound and Doppler studies.
