NHS Lanarkshire is looking for an enthusiastic assistant technical officer to join our pharmacy dispensary team! We are seeking an individual with an interest in personal development, experience of managing workload in a time critical environment, team working and communication skills. Successful applicants will receive training and supervision to help them develop into this role. It is envisioned this role will involve the education and development of others to help support the team.



If successful in your application, your role within this position is to provide patient focused quality service to assure an efficient and timely supply of pharmaceutical products, to undertake dispensing of inpatient and out-patient prescriptions and to receive , check, package and despatch pharmaceutical goods and to assess items returned for re-use.


Applying candidates should hold a Scottish Vocational Qualification Level II and previous experience as an assistant technical officer/dispenser. This role requires an ability to work under pressure, ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload and an ability to work under their own initiative and as part of a team. A commitment to CPD (continuous professional development) is essential. Candidates should have good verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills and an ability to demonstrate both customer awareness and customer focus.

Self-motivation within this role is essential. Experience within a hospital practice is desirable, you may also be required to work weekends/public holidays. Candidates should display a willingness to contribute to the general working of the pharmacy department.
